What is evidence-based investing in wealth management?
Evidence based investing is based on years of research and empirical evidence.
Encore's systematic approach aims to capture stock market returns through a low-cost, diversified investment strategy. We don’t believe you can consistently outperform the market, because whilst there may be some short term gains, over the long term, the constant switching, buying and selling, will cost more in fees than playing the long game and following the market.
To establish the best investment strategy Encore’s founders, Richard Wood and Igors Alferovs travelled across the globe to meet some of the worlds most respected wealth management gurus, these included the late John Bogle, creator of the first index fund for individual investors; Burton Malkiel, Professor of Economics at Princeton University; Eugene Fama, the ‘Father of Modern Finance’ and financial theorist, William Bernstein.
Richard and Igors have also worked with investment writer Larry Swedroe to produce the UK edition of ‘Think, Act, and Invest Like, Warren Buffett’.
